In a sustainable project we are of course aware of the importance of education, so we want to pass on
the knowledge of this unique project as early as possible, so that even the youngest can make a positive contribution to the environment.
That is why the primary school in Ibi Village opened its doors in 2003. Since there were few schools in the area, the school quickly filled up. Every year, an average of 120 pupils between the ages of 5 and 14 are registered. The team of the director and the 6 teachers is responsible for the education of the little Ibi villagers.
More than a hundred children have now completed a full school cycle and several of them have progressed to secondary education and a few even to higher education.
The children not only go to school for language and arithmetic, there is also a garden where they learn the agro-forestry technique for which Ibi is known in the area, because sustainability cannot be learned early enough!
The Friends of Ibi (AIV) have been a partner of this educational project for many years. They recently completed the renovation of the classrooms.
In addition to a coat of paint and the purchase of didactic materials, the benches and blackboards were renewed and the playground refreshed. Some years ago they also funded the construction of a boarding school to ensure that education is also accessible to children who come from afar.
